10 July 1925 – Meher Baba emerges from his Jhopdi (cottage) in Meherabad silent. His silence is to last the rest of his life – 44 years. When asked by his disciples, “But how will you teach us if you are silent?” Baba replies, “I have come not to teach but to awaken.”

10 July 1947 – Baba’s lovers are to observe a fast on Silence Dayfor 24 hours beginning at 7 a.m. according to a previously issued circular.

10 July 1952 – Following the serious car accident in the United States in which Baba, Mehera and others are injured, the Full Free Life phase of Baba’s work begins in which “freedom dominates bindings and strength dominates weakness” as the Complicated Free Life phase ends.

10 July 1953 – Baba is in Dehra Dun. His followers throughout the world are asked to repeat audibly for one hour, the name of God according to their religion.

10 July 1958 – “The Universal Message” is first read out during a gathering at Meherabad.
